MaxiVac Excell® 5.0
MaxiVac Excell 5.0 is a pentavalent inactivated vaccine for the control of swine influenza virus (SIV). The new vaccine controls five strains of SIV, providing swine producers with broad spectrum coverage from SIV in their herds.
Features of MaxiVac Excell 5.0
- MaxiVac Excell 5.0 contains 5 strains of swine influenza virus for broad protection.
Strains covered include cluster IV H3N2, human-like H1N1 (huH1N1), H1N2-like H1N1, cluster 1 H3N2, and reassortant H1N1 (rH1N1). Recent studies have shown that the new H1N2-like vaccine strain cross-reacts well with both contemporary H1N2 viruses, as well as contemporary rH1N1 viruses. - The vaccine has demonstrated a decrease in nasal viral shedding by 98.6 percent, 5 days following an SIV challenge versus unvaccinated controls. There was also a decrease in pneumonia and lung infection following challenge.
- The proven adjuvant Emunade® gives the vaccine excellent safety.
